Glass Named CVU.com National Player of the Year

The Collegiate Volleyball Update (CVU.com) is pleased to announce its selection of Penn State's Alisha Glass as the 2008 CVU.com National Player of the Year.

A junior from Leland, Mich., Glass guided the Nittany Lions to a perfect season and their second-straight National Title.

A 6-0 setter, Glass led the nation with 12.5 assists per set while averaging .55 kills per set on .319 hitting. She put back nearly a block per set with 0.98, while adding 1.83 digs per set.

Under Glass' on-court direction, Penn State was first in the nation in team hitting percentage at .390, while finishing second in kills per set with 14.95.

In addition to earning Player of the Year honors, Glass was named to the CVU.com Stellar Spikers First Team and was also the CVU.com National Setter of the Year.
